Robert and Janet Weaver, owners of Camp Ontario for 12 years, would like to welcome you to their favorite fishing location. Robert began fishing Rainy Lake 26 years ago when he and Janet discovered Camp Ontario as guests. They loved and enjoyed the 50 year old fishing camp so much that when the opportunity came to buy it, they didn’t hesitate. The Weavers are pleased to have guests who return year after year, and Janet proudly states, “We have the honor and pleasure of hosting guests who have been coming to Camp Ontario so long that now their great-grandchildren are enjoying the same atmosphere they first experienced at this Camp.”
Robert and Janet have one primary purpose-for each guest to have a tremendous fishing experience. They explain, “We enjoy seeing guests who consistently report catching the biggest or most fish they’ve ever caught. To us, that is a successful day.” A seasoned expert on the area, Robert will offer information on fishing hot spots, seasonal hot baits, and map navigational aids. He is also available for guide services.
The Camp
Camp Ontario is perfect for individuals and groups who want a getaway, families who want to enjoy time together, or corporations who need a place in nature away from the office.
We have 6 Rainy lake cabins that can accommodate 2 to 6 people. Each Rainy Lake cabin has 2 or 3 bedrooms and is equipped with propane refrigerators, stoves, and lights. The Rainy lake cabins come with cooking utensils and bedding.
We also have three 60-ft floating docks for camp or personal boats.
If you enjoy nature and beautiful scenery, Camp Ontario provides many options. Guests looking for a short adventure can take the short hike up High Rock Island to pick blueberries and raspberries. Others can enjoy playing on the sand beach and swimming. We had one adventurous couple who climbed atop High Rock Island to exchange their wedding vows! We have something for everyone.
